Saw in the paper today where former KHS coach and the first Athletic Director Gene Rogers had died. He was a very special man and will be missed

I heard of him and his Roos' coaching days when I first came here 30 years ago. Obviously was a great man and a great coach.

Coach Rogers brought life back to the Roos and made them a force in the late 60's into the 70's. When Killeen played Dallas Carter in 1971 in the Cotton Bowl for the 3rd round, there was a convoy of buses leaving town. God Bless him and his family.
