If you aren't watching this you'd better turn it on. TCU is showing Baylor how to run an offense and how to play defense.
14-0, TCU, 1st quarter.
ABC, Channel 25.

Yep... Throw the ball a mile in the air and either the receiver catches it, or you get called for pass interference.

Plus, their QB is getting all the time in the world to throw, and Petty seems... Befuddled.

Another game with Mississippi State over Auburn, 21-0 1st quarter.

Baylor just scored on a 66 yard Petty pass.
There goes the #2 team down the tubes. :)
Florida State won 38-20, but hardly impressive over an inept Syracuse team. But I read FSU has summoned their QB Rapist to a hearing. Maybe he'll be finished for the year.

This game is absolutely incredible. Never seen so many big plays.

What was petty about the pass?:)

Baylor needs to tighten up their special teams.

Need to tighten up their defense too. TCU is not an offensive powerhouse, but Baylor is making them look like one.

CenTexDave
October 11th, 2014, 6:15 PM
This is over. Another INT for a TD.
We are watching 3 things happening in this game:
1. Baylor's dream of an undefeated season, Big 12 championship, and a place in the national championship playoffs just came crashing down.
2. Petty's thoughts of the Heisman took a huge hit.
3. TCU has demonstrated they are for real. Beat Oklahoma already, now Baylor. They only have a couple of games left that could give them a big of trouble - OK State and K-State. Win those and they'll be the Big 12 champs and in the playoffs.

I think you're right, though neither defense appears to have shown up today.

October 11th, 2014, 6:22 PM
We all knew Baylor had a powerful offense. Surprising to me that TCU has given up this many points to them.
I've never seen so many long plays. This game has had everything. I wonder what the over/under was for this game - 120?? :))

oicu812
October 11th, 2014, 6:25 PM
Seriously, right? And TCU looks like they're headed for another one.

CenTexDave

Baylor finally stopped them. Now need to score quick, get another stop and then go for it.

CenTexDave
October 11th, 2014, 6:33 PM
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

CenTexDave
October 11th, 2014, 6:38 PM
And got the other - second - stop they need. Now they have to make sure they don't score too fast. :))

That Shock Linwood, Bears RB, ishaving a helluva game, and Johnny Jefferson, other Baylor RB, is out hurt.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

That was a b.s. pass interference call, but some homer ref. :))
They need to get closer. Their placekicker is not very good.

#2 Auburn lost to #3 Miss St.
#3 (tie) or #4 Ole Miss plays A&M tonight.
Florida State (#1) won over Syracuse today but was not very impressive.
It's very possible Baylor will move up to #4, and if they can stay there that is all they need to get into the playoff.

Yes I do, but am glad to have a big helping of crow. Never thought they would come back like that. TCU just seemed to die with about 8 minutes left in the game.

And Bama is trailing Arkansas in the 4th, although they are close to scoring.
Seems to me a shift in the power of the SEC is coming - moving from the State of Alabama to the State of Mississippi.
Now just wish someone would knock off Florida State who was very unimpressive today beating North Carolina. They play Notre Dame next week. Doubt Notre Dame can beat them, and that's fine. I don't like them either. :))

CenTexDave

Arkansas is falling apart. Typical 4th quarter for them.

I know but I just couldn't let it pass without taking a little poke.:)) When two teams have offenses like these two do the game ain't over until there is 0:00 on the clock. Remember Auburn/Alabama last year.

CenTexDave

Yeah, but this one was better.
And Bama pulled another one out. Arkansas should have won that game.

First, those refs were paid off because the no call on the pass interference call that should've gone against Baylor was WAY worse than the call made against TCU.

Second, what the heck is up with the Hogs abandoning the freaking running game when that has been their bread and butter all year?!!! Their 4th quarter play calling is TERRIBLE!!!!

Arizona, who beat Oregon last week, went down last night to Southern Cal.
Gonna be another big juggle in the Top Ten.

The refs were all over the place calling interference even when none was there. The play in question I think was called because the defender never looked for the ball and ran over the receiver. Good call.

As far as the Pigs abandoning the running game. They were trying to disprove the old saying that "pigs can't fly".:)) They proved otherwise.

Arkansas killed themselves, but did manage to show that Alabama is not nearly the team they have been the past few years. Guess Miss State also showed Auburn isn't.
Look for a new #1 when the polls come out later today. Think it will look something like this:
1. Miss State
2. Ole Miss
3. Florida State
4. Baylor
5. Notre Dame (what b.s. - way overrated)
6 - 10 is anyone's guess with Auburn, TCU and Arizona losing, and Bama squeeking one out. Mich St didn't look all that good over hapless Purdue. Oregon, the media's darling, will probably jump back into the Top 10. Georgia had a big shut out win over Mizzou, they'll get back in the top 10 also.
