In the past several years, it has been my observation that schools want or understand the need for parental involvement in the school. We know that student achievement goes up, and behavior issues are reduced when parents are involved. When the parent cannot speak the language, then they will not feel empowered to get involved. However, I have also noticed that only a few schools, including CTC, offer (or are able to offer) English classes for these parents. My desire is to help with this and use my skills and certifications to teach and guide these adults. I am able to not only teach English to English Language Learners (ELL), I can also teach Spanish. I have decided to provide this service from my home to those who need and desire it. I have a website which details some of the things I can help with.
