For those interested - David Cobb from Killeen, Minnesota's RB, is on ESPN right now.

Well, he was for the 1st quarter anyhow...then all of a sudden Minnesota decided they were a passing team.

Must be because they are in Texas...Take what works, and toss it out the window for what doesn't work.

No RB has gained 100 yards against Syracuse this year. Hard to believe for a team that had to win their last game to be bowl eligible.

Minnesota blows another bowl game in the 4th quarter. Pathetic.

Yep..they desperately tried to do everything differently from what brought them to the dance, and it worked. They snatched a defeat out of the jaws of victory.

The run game was starting to work in the second half. They were wearing the Orange down. Cobb was picking up good yardage. So come crunch time they go away from it. Their QB, a freshman, gets sacked play after play after play. Then that great punt coverage. Pisses me off.
They had a good team this year - they beat Nebraska, Penn State and Northwestern. Their losses were, with the exception of this bowl game, to Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin and Michigan State. Didn't play Ohio State or that would have been a loss. :)

They must've had Garrett or Callahan in the booth "advising" them!

They had a number of issues last night. For one thing, they had a lot of stupid penalties. As in the O line has been reading Doug Frees book on how to perform false starts. Then, they had a couple of really bonehead turnovers trying to run before they had hold of the ball.

Problem with going from a run offense to a pass offense is that the O line has to be able to keep the defense out of their backfield. Not a problem when your running the ball, but a big problem when the quarterback needs time to set up. He just didn't have the time.

A lot of silly mistakes and miscalls....Plus, the team simply didn't plan for that sort of a game, or adjust accordingly when the pass didn't work.

They sure played better though when the head coach left the press box and went to the sidelines. This coach has suffered a lot of epileptic seizures during the season.
The Gophers are still a season or two away from making a real run.

Yep...Unfortunately Cobb is only going to be around for one more year. Bet they wished they would have let him actually play his first 2 years on the team.

Of the 2 Cobb brothers, his older brother had more talent during his HS years...But went to the wrong school when he graduated. I never will understand why he signed up for Tech when they refused to use him as a running back. It almost looks like Tech is a good old boy school where instead of using the talent they draft, they just keep on using the old gang until they graduate. But Minnesota did the same thing with David...the only difference was that David stood his ground on the position he wanted to play.

Daniels problemsoff the field, and his subsequent relocation to another college will make it near impossible to get a shake in the NFL next year, but David looks like he stands a good chance.

Their Momma is very adamant that they both get a college degree first.....or no pro football. She is a super sweet lady, and has her priorities with her children. College and the lord being top 2.

Back when Tuberville was still the Coach there, I think.

Yeah, Tuberville's Cincinnati Bearcats did real good today against North Carolina, getting blown out 39-16.
