3M makes a fantastic product for picture hanging. I just started using them and they are great. I use a laser level to make sure they are straight and just stick them to the wall.

Over-achiever! I just kind of eyeball them, and since one of my eyeballs is crooked and I can't see well out of the other one I don't try to go for an even look.

They are awesome though. I even use some 3M hooks for my curtain tie-backs; if I don't like the way the curtains hang after they've been up for a while, I can move the hooks without holes being left in the walls.
