GO REVOLUTION!!! (http://www.kdhnews.com/news/story.aspx?s=67935) :)

Killeen Revolution, a local semi-professional football team, to the Aug. 4 national championship game against the top-ranked Hunstville Alabama Rockets.

"We know what's at stake, here," Revolution coach Bill Clark said. "It's not just for the team. It's for Killeen, it's for Texas. We're representing Texas.

"We won the division — 10-0 for the season ... won the conference championship, won the league championship and now here we get the chance to win a BCS national championship. To do that as a second-year team, I'm so happy."

In just their second year, the third-ranked Revolution won the South Texas Amateur Football League title two weeks ago and are 13-0 going into the national title game. The Rockets are in their first year and are also 13-0 after winning the National Developmental Football League.

Yeah, it would be nice to have a national champion in Killeen.

I wish the Central Texas Stampede hadnt gone under. I really enjoyed going to those games even though I didnt understand hockey rules.

One of their players is a member of my church and he was telling me how excited they are to be going. He used to play for Ellison. So, I'll be saying an extra prayer for Carl Vickers and the gang this week.

It's off season right now - maybe they could grab some of the local NFL talent - Tommie Lee Harris, Peanut Tillman, RG3?? :)

Good idea... Roy Miller and Tommie Harris were both in town recently at a Christian conference (http://www.kdhpressbox.com/index.php/schools/ellison-eagles/6583-harris-speaks-of-religion-loss-at-mens-conference).
