I have a 9 year old Pekingese, she is usually pretty good about using the bathroom outside, but I discovered an area upstairs that she had been peeing on, I shampooed the carpet with bleach water and she stopped, but now she is going on my wood floors what can possibly be wrong with her? She was a great dog until recently.:-s

My dog will be 11 this year. She is getting quite old, and has accidents on my wood floors. Sometimes she wets right by the door to go out back. I think it is just age. She can't get there quick enough. Surely dogs get incontinent too. :(

Hmmm, I'll take her to the vet just in case.

I always check around to see if anyone is going through what my dogs are, then do the "ask the vet" thing, and still go to the vet. It's just like us with the doctor, until you hear from the vet you can't relax.

Any change in urinary habits can be due to medical or behavioral issues. Your veterinarian can sort this out for you and recommend a proper treatment plan.

I wish you and your dog well.
