I know it ain't a pet thing but this is the place for talkin' 'bout critters. A lobsterman from Maine brought in a veritable monster. His specimen weighed in at a whopping 27lbs at 40" in length. He won't be cooking it, but it'll soon be turned back into the wild.
Good lord, what might Red Lobster get for that thing? How many would it feed? Would it be any good on the plate?

De ja vu all over again.

Just two years ago, Feb. 2009 "Bubba," was the catch of the day weighing in at 22 pounds, and estimated to be 100 years old. The libs at PETA sent a letter asking for Bubba's release and the owner caved. This one could be Bubba again.

But, Bubba's not the Grand Champion bug. Guinness says that the heaviest one weighed in at 44 pounds, 6 oz. caught off Nova Scotia in 1977.

and now for the rest of the story: After having a great and grand handing off ceremony, the PETA people, with great fan fare released the lobster in the central park lake. (think about it)......

I'd sooner eat kaegogi and two dozen raw oysters than one of those bug. To each his/her own.

I like lobster well enough, but I'm just not sure how palatable one that large would be. After all, I've tried natural raised catfish and don't really care for it. But, I love farm raised. I just think something that lives that close to the bottom AND is that big might very well have the same sort of problems.
