i was driving down an older street this morning and in a fenced in yard I saw 9 (that I could count) dogs of the same breed! I have heard of a bunch of animal hoarders being taken down lately, not sure waht they consider Hoarding in this area! They were small dogs, but still...thats a lot! So what would the right thing to do be?!?! any thoughts

i would submit that if you suspect them of "breeding" to notify animal control of your suspicions and if they tell you to notify the police, then.......think about it......mac (was this in himesa?)

Did the animals look sick or underfed, was the backyard free of debris, plenty of water? If none of the former apply, please leave these poor people alone. I know we are moving toward socialism, where everyone is in your business and you cannot live your own life anymore without someone tattling, but we are not there yet.

There is, I believe, a city ordinance which limits the number of pets. I'm too lazy to look it up though.

No, Ludwig, there is no limits to the animals you can keep if you can care for them. There are regulations as to their upkeep and condition, and there is a license you have to get if you want to breed, and there is a limit of two litters per year.

I think it depends on what city they live in and if they live out side of the city limits.

I think I would definitely make a call about this. I understand about minding our own business and leaving others alone but IMO animals are the most innocent of creatures aside from our children and they don't have a voice if we don't speak out for them.
If those dogs are fine then no harm done but if they are not being taken care of someone needs to know.

Copperas Cove has a limit of four (4) animals, as I just learned today.

I was surprised to read on the city of Killeen's web page that Killeen has no dog/cat limit. I thought the pet limit was 5. Guess not.

Yet we eat them. Or are we on the way to banning that now?

Come to think of it, I better get a few more animals to stock up in anticipation of the great collapse so my family will have a source of protein.

Speak for yourself on that

To me it's how you take care of your animals not how many you have. We had a dog living in the house behind us, only animal they owned as far as we could tell.

The poor thing was in a cage 365 days a year, sometimes the water was clean, sometimes it was green.
Sometimes the cage was clean, sometimes it was disgusting.
I felt so sorry for the poor dog and called animal control several times.

Why do people have an animal and have them outside in a cage all the time. Mine are part of the family and spoiled rotten.
