I installed a new feature that hides quotes from people you are ignoring.

This is what you will see if someone quotes a member who is on your Ignored Member list.

Neat! I have always been bothered by that... ignoring someone only to have a quote of his/hers appear anyhow. Thanks for plugging that loophole.

Because I figured that out of all the members here, your ego not only could handle it, but get a boost from it.

Why is there even an ignore function to begin with? It just strikes me as childish and contrary to the point of a forum- open debate.

At the least, maybe those who are [ahem] liberal with their ignore buttons should be publicly listed so they can be laughed at.

You'll have to ask Vbulletin and all the other forum software why there is an ignore button.

I remember getting into an argument with a person (certainly not a liberal) who left the forum over the fact that I allowed people to ignore him. He felt that his words were so important, that everyone should read them.

I kid you not.

Well that's silly. I still like the idea of publicly announcing those who have their fingers knuckle-deep in their auditory cavities.

I don't use the ignore button but I do scroll right past most of those long winded 2 paged posts.
