Went to the Killeen Animal Shelter a week ago and found two black kittens for our family. Need to name them and the only names I can come up with is "Claw" and "Fang".

Help! any suggestions????

Your choices sound perfectly fine to me.

I'm probably plagiarising these names because I'm sure they are not original but here I go:

Starsky and Hutch
Abercrombie and Fitch

The naming of a cat is largely a one-way event; it helps you to identify with the animal but I have never had a cat that responded to his/her name.

You may want to wait until their personality comes out which would suggest a name.

My current cat is named Boots because he's a spitting image of a little virtual cat that walked all over my wife's computer screen whose name was Boots.

Tom and Jerry
Mickey and Pluto
Poncho and Frisco

You get the idea. Name them after a famous duo.
Tonto and Ranger

I still like Rufus and BoJango

Two males...so much for naming them Scully and Mulder, or Fred and Ginger...or Maddy and David...or Morticia and Gomez (am currently watching DWTS!)

Gilligan and Skipper
Felix and Oscar
Elwood and Jake
Tim and Al
Pinky and The Brain
Lou and Bud
Stan and Ollie
Brian and Slim Jim (they WERE 'Stray Cats', weren't they?)
Hannity and Colmes
Tonto and Kato (saw a copy of a biography of Art Carney today. Didn't know he won a Best Actor Oscar for 'Harry and Tonto'--he was 'Harry' to a cat named Tonto!)

Had a friend over 30 years ago who had a cat named Fang. It ran away, and was replaced by another cat...named Fang! Not sure what happened to that one, but Fang number three was a kitten, I think...

Thanks everyone.

It has been fun reading all the creative ideas for names. We went to the vet this last week and named them Thing One and Thing Two temporarily for paperwork.

I will let you know when they receive their permanent names. Keep the thoughts coming.

Cat and Cat. Since as Ludwig pointed out, they often don't respond, there's really no point in being too creative.

My dad brought home three stary siamese cates when I was a kid. My parents named them Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego. :) We gave 2 away, and kept Shadrack until the neighbors stole him and gave him to a family member. :(

A name from this site? Lefty and Righty.
(Too bad they're not females. They could be Libby and Connie.)
