This is not a thread to discuss whether or not to help people buy school supplies. Fee free to start a topic if you wish to discuss that. Thanks in advance for understanding.
We are trying to raise some money to buy school supplies for children whose families may need a helping hand preparing for the upcoming school year.
We have a lot of teachers on this forum who know the needs of the children in their schools and some of those teachers are willing to help decide what items we will buy and they will distribute those items throughout their schools. They can use their teacher discounts at local stores in order to maximize the buying power with whatever we collect.
Ways that we are going to try to raise money are:
1. I have ordered some window stickers that I will sell with all profits going to the fund. The stickers cost me $1.00 each and I will sell them for $2.00 each and I will pay the postage to mail them to whoever buys them. Everyone who donates will receive a sticker if they provide me with an address or a "reasonable" means to get them to you. I should have the stickers this weekend and will start mailing them as soon as I can.
2. Paypal donations can be made by clicking on the Donation Link (http://www.centextalk.com/vb/misc.php?do=donate) in the menu bar at the top of the forum.
